Iramac was a Dutch record label founded by Silvio Samama. In 1965 the first classical recordings were released. Artists of the Iramac catalog were Yi Kwei Sze (bass), Sydney Harth (violin), Brooks Smith (piano), Daniel Wayenberg (piano), Theo Olof (violin), Jean Decroos (cello), Danielle Dechenne (piano), David Zinman (conductor), Nap de Klijn (violin), Rudolf Jansen (piano), Han de Vries (oboe), Janny van Wering (harpsichord), Carel van Leeuwen Boomkamp (cello), Sonia Anschutz (piano), The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, The Hague Residency Orchestra, and Vanderzand (conductor). The company started a popular record label in order to generate extra income to finance the classical recordings. The popuIar side of the Iramac company became the new label Relax. Yet Iramac could not survive alongside the big record companies. In 1969 the label ceased to exist and several recordings were sold to other companies. That is why Cristine Deutekom appeared later on the Classics for Pleasure label. However here on offer is the original issue on the Relax label.
